Our super-concentrated liquid Wilderness Wash™ goes a long way and is gentle on fabrics and skin but effective on dishes and laundry stains. It is biodegradable, phosphate, paraben and fragrance-free. We’ve also made sure that the bottles it comes in are tough enough and the lids are secure enough so you don’t have to worry about the soap leaking in your pack or bag. Use it in accordance with Leave No Trace principles (see below) and it is gentle on the environment, too.

CAN WILDERNESS WASH?

Be used in lakes and streams? No. Biodegradable means that the product will break down due to biological action and UV, but it will harm aquatic life if used directly in streams, ponds and lakes. Practice Leave No Trace and wash / dispose of waste water 300ft / 100m from any water source.

Be refilled? Yes. We offer the 8.5oz / 250ml size, which can be decanted into a smaller Wilderness Wash bottle in your travel or backpacking wash kit.

Be used for wool or technical fabrics? Yes. It is a non-detergent formula which will not harm wool or degrade water-resistant technical fabrics / DWR finishes (make sure to rinse well after washing).

If you are not 100% satisfied with your purchase, you may return to the store within 14 days of receiving your products for a full refund. Within 30 days you are eligible for a store credit. Store credits are redeemable in-store and online. The customer must provide a receipt at the time of return.
All trailshop.com orders can be returned to any of The Trail Shop locations. Please ensure to have a copy of your invoice when returning online orders. Customers shipping orders back to the store for refund or exchange are encouraged to add shipping insurance to the return package, and shipping costs will be the responsibility of the customer unless the product is defective or not as described/ordered. We do not accept returns on intimate products, including face masks, packaged underwear, bathing suits, etc.

Christmas Return Policy:
For items purchased during the festive season, our return policy extends to accommodate the spirit of giving. All items bought between November 1st and December 25th can be returned for a refund or exchange until January 12th. Please ensure the items are in their original condition with tags and packaging intact.
